You’re working from home. You’ve become a pro at social distancing. Still this routine of being in quarantine is a lot. And if we’re being honest, there doesn’t seem to be an expiration date on this thing. It’s easy to lose your motivation in it all. No one could blame you for just throwing up your hands and curling up for a nap or Netflix binge. It’s OK to take a minute and and veg out. Still, we’ve gotta come back armed with the motivation to get things done. How, you say? We’ve got a few ideas.
It helps to surround yourself with things that are beautiful. Whether it’s art, a throw pillow or some flowers. Beautiful things make you feel good and give a jolt of optimism.
Remember to always look for the rainbow in the clouds. It’s a lot to be upset or even sad about right now. Making a point to look for the silver lining or the rainbow in the clouds will up your motivation factor. It’s a reminder to keep pushing because there’s something worth it on the other side.
Social media, um, it’s a lot. If not for the posts from people that leave you fuming, it’s the others of people living their best life and causing you to compare. Sometimes the best way to deal with all of that is just to unplug. A good social media fast never hurt anybody. If you’re not constantly bombarded by other people’s stuff, you create space and motivation for your own.
There are a ton of virtual classes out there! So many. From virtual wine tastings to painting classes. There are so many opportunities to try something new. Expanding your view of what’s possible – a good thing.
Here’s the thing. We’re at home more than we have been in awhile. Take the time to up your self care game and pamper yourself in whatever way works for you. That could look like an at home facial or pedicure – you choose! You’ll feel better and that in itself is motivating.
