Around here, we love a good podcast. They have been coming in handy these days while we’re spending more time at home. While working from home, we’ve been checking out new podcasts as we get work done. Some of our faves are news or pop culture related. There are so many to choose from. We’ve found several that you might want to check out. Topping the list is Therapy for Black Girls. We could all use therapy with the year we’re living through. Check out her website. She has a directory, if you’re looking for a therapist.
Therapy for Black Girls is a weekly chat about all things, including relationships, parenting and friendships.
Still Processing is one of my favorites. The hosts delve into a topic (usually pop culture related). They’re writers and both have really interesting viewpoints that make you think or, er, process.
The Suga is a newer podcast with actress Tika Sumpter and President of Kevin Hart’s LOL Network, Thai Randolph. They dive into parenting topics that include mothers, mothers-to-be, and even those who want kids one day. Those varying viewpoints make it a really different and interesting podcast.
Truth Be Told is another favorite. Host Tonya Mosley, covers really interesting topics. She doesn’t skirt the issue and gets right to the truth of the matter. The topics have ranged from racism, homophobia and unashamedly taking up space.
Ratchet and Respectable You might remember Demetria L Lucas from her days on staff at Essence, her books or from her stint on a Bravo reality show. She’s launched this fun podcast just about two years ago. It started as a passion project she was gonna do for a bit and grown to a full on weekly date to chat about all things pop culture. She says a lot of the things we think – filter free. It’s a gem!
Love Hour one of our favorite couples, Kevin Fredericks (Kevonstage) and Melissa Fredericks (Mrskevonstage) have this great podcast that champions a healthy marriage. The talk about the impact their religious upbringing has had on them and how they’ve grown as people. They talk to experts and authors, etc. about a range of topics. They offer and honest and fresh look about sex, marriage and family life with a healthy dose of self love in the center of it all.
Up First This is a must listen to get your dose of news in the morning. It covers the topics you’ll be hearing about all day on the news. They just get in done in about 20 minutes or less.
