If we’re honest, the last nearly two years has fallen pretty heavily on the shoulders of moms. Whether it’s women leaving the workplace to be able to take care of the kids and handle virtual school or stepping in as the caregiver for various family members, that usually ends up being our job. So needless to say, we’re TIRED! Exhausted is probably a better word. For many of us, the kids are back in school and we’re getting used to a new normal. We’re stressed about the babies being back in person in a WHOLE pandemic. We’re also trying to catch up on all the things now that we’re not doing virtual school. Again, TIRED.
Is anyone else dreaming of the chance to take a mom getaway? It’s definitely needed. Can’t you just picture sleeping in or having a long, uninterrupted shower. Emphasis on uninterrupted. Then making your way to a late, lazy breakfast. Sounds great, right? Looking for a sign that it might be time to get away? We’ve got five!
It’s time if:
- You’re feeling negative. Everything and everyone is getting on your last nerve.
- You’re constantly in search of ways to relax. Whether it’s a glass of red wine or a dose of melatonin, you need help catching the Zzzz’s.
- Your life consists of Mom mode and work mode. That’s it. No room for anything else.
- You’re so far past burnout you need a new word for burnout.
- You don’t seem to get excited about much anymore. Who has the energy?
Yes, mama, we feel you! Know you’re not alone in the struggle. In the meantime, look for some free events in your area that you can hit up on the weekends. While you’re there, take some touristy photos. Another idea is to take a class. Even an online class in something fun that let’s you escape for a bit. We’ve been known to get together with friends for virtual wine tasting classes. It works when you can’t get away.
