TBMS Motivation: You only THINK you can’t

TBMS Motivation: You only THINK you can’t

What is it you think you CAN’T do? Is there some idea, some nagging thoughts you’ve been talking yourself out of? That thing that keeps coming back and keeps being put off… yeah, you should probably do something about that.

You certainly have your reasons for why you think we can’t do whatever it is we really want to do. It’s like the more we want it, the more reasons we have for why we can’t do it. Isn’t it crazy how that happens? We have definitely been guilty of that over here. In the last few years efforts have been made to change that.

GUILTY

You know who is most guilty of this? It’s probably us mamas! Think about it. We have legit reasons why we can’t so this or pursue that. Raising kids can take all we have, even if we have a partner. The thing is, we can’t let it take all we have to give. We have to save something to give to ourselves. You owe it to you to maintain a piece of who you were before your name changed to mama. Keep some of that ambition on reserve to pursue some of those back burner things.

We all have to change our mindset to being more about going for it! Whatever it is. It’s the whole idea of knowing that all we really have is right here and right now so putting things off for someday really doesn’t make sense. It’s a hard truth but one we all have to learn eventually.

Can you say OUCH!?!?

Well, no matter your reason for talking yourself out of “it”. Let these fun facts give you a nudge in the right direction. Know that what you want – is totally possible!

  • Beethoven’s music teacher once said of him, “As a composer, he is hopeless”.
  • Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team.
  • Walt Disney was fired from a newspaper because he “lacked imagination, and had no good ideas”.
  • Thomas Edison’s teacher told him he was too stupid to learn anything. Later, he tried 1,600 different materials before settling on carbon as the filament for the electric light bulb.

Don’t let any one or any situation make you believe you can’t. Seriously, anything is possible!
