What’s your favorite time of day?
My favorite time of day, hmmm I do love that moment when my head hits the pillow at night BUT I have to say the morning time when I’m the only one awake and the house is quiet and still. It’s calming and perfect for just reflecting and enjoying the moment of peace to start the day.
What kind of books do you like to read?
Well, my husband has always joked that I only read self-help books. lol, however, it is true I enjoy books that help me be better. I’ve also grown an appreciation for books by Black women who are sharing their stories and relatable truth-telling journeys.
What’s the last book you read?
Black Girls Must Die Exhausted by Jayne Allen.
This novel is book 2 of a series and the title really caught my eye. I wanted to find out more about the story and see if the author’s writing offered insights similar or different to my own real-life experiences.
Quick Q’s
Freedom or hope?
This is a tough one. I am always a champion for hope. But given the climate at the time of this response, I am reminded of a question that you (Camesha) asked during a podcast episode with me. It was “what does freedom feel like?” That has stood out in my mind since that episode. I believe we will always have more to hope for in life but given the opportunity, I’d love to feel the freedom that my family and the generations before me have never known. And given that freedom, many of my hopes would become reality. So I guess freedom because it gives me both.
Sweet or Savory?
Sweet! I am the person that will definitely save room for dessert. If I know a good dessert is being served I’ll cut back on the main meal!
Thanks, Latorsha for being a part of the squad! We definitely appreciate your time.
